Taking a Cue, from Avenue Q.
May 22, 2013 |
I recently had the opportunity to see the show ‘Avenue Q’, the winner of a Tony award for best musical, best score and best book (wow, a triple crown).
This musical, about a recent college grad moving into a shabby New York apartment, had me from the opening scene, when they sung “It Sucks to Me”. You see, if there’s one thing I’ve learned on my path to being my own wingman, it’s anytime I’m feeling down it’s best if I can
lighten the heaviness that pervades my mind.
I had that cumbersome feeling this morning, and as I ‘walked it out’, I decided it would be a great time to join the cast of Avenue Q as they sung,
Almost instantly, the weight lessened and my focus sharpened.
My vision became very clear, and I was able see the action that was necessary to attain the success I wanted to achieve.
Wow, that was easy!
When something as simple as hearing a song is able to instantly change my mindset from negative to positive, from blurred to precise, from unproductive to helpful, I share it in the hopes it can help you as well, to conquer your challenges and realize your goals.
So today, if you’re confronted with yet another obstacle, another day feeling it sucks to be you, maybe all you need is a visit to Avenue Q.
Thanks for allowing me to be your wingman today, and have a great memorial day weekend.
In Appreciation,
Michael
